The Council doesn't have the funds to seal all unsealed roads, so we seal sections of a small number of our busiest roads each We are sealing 23.3km of six, high-priority roads in the district this year with funding assistance from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, the Provincial Growth Fund and the year. These are roads that link a high number of homes, schools, marae and other public facilities. Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment's Tourism Infrastructure Fund. Most sealing work on Council reads is undertaken during warmer weather between November and May.
